Jennifer Song Community Spirit Award

In 2010, Jennifer Song won the Tate & Lyle Players Championship in Decatur, Illinois. At the awards ceremony, Jennifer stunned the audience by giving back to the community and donating one third of her winnings to local children’s organizations. Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club and the LGPA Junior Girls Golf organization each received nearly $5,000.

Because of Jennifer Song’s giving spirit, the Jennifer Song Community Spirit Award was created. This award is presented to a Macon County resident who exhibits enthusiasm, integrity and perseverance beyond the ordinary to help children in the community develop their dreams through selfless giving — be it talent, money or time.

This year, the tournament committee will make a $1,000 donation to the local charity of the award winner's choice in his or her name.
